DREADLOVERS: How would you describe your Music? HEN: I would call it universal hip-hop because it doesn’t have one particular sound. Hip-hop is the root of my music, it is the primary influence, but I don’t like to box myself in. I love hip-hop, that is my foundation but I am always skating outside the boundaries to create a new sound. I try to be as diverse as possible when putting projects together. As far as content goes, I like to keep bit positive by not perpetuating negative images or glorifying materialistic things, like some of these kats in the rap game. My music is fresh and vibrant all while spreading a self-righteous message.

DREADLOVERS: What do you Love about being a Musician? HEN: Music is a platform for me to voice my opinions, ideas and allows me to release my creativity. Since I was a kid, I was always into entertaining people; I used to be involved in theater as well as doing a lot of party hosting, so being a musician is something that naturally fell into place. Its also always a great things to see when people are inspired by my music or just my musical grind and that encourages me to keep doing what I love to do.

DREADLOVERS: Do you work from a Salon?:  A: NO

DREADLOVERS: Are you Mobile?:  A: Definitely!

DREADLOVERS: What kind of treatments & styling do you offer and whats your speciality?  A: I’m a pretty basic Loctician. I care more about the growth and healthy appearance of Locs vs the styling. My goal is to promote an awareness to maintaining healthy Locs by educating my clients on natural products to use and how to take care of your Locs in between visits. My specialty is spiritually, emotionally, and physically guiding you along your loc journey, which can be a scary feeling in the beginning. My clients feel very comfortable with me and I make sure they can call, text, or email me at anytime with any questions they may have about their locs. The styles I offer are basic (flat twists, two strand twists, bantu knots/knot outs, basic updo’s) and can be seen on Love Mobile Locs on Facebook and Thumbtack.com/MenaLove.

DREADLOVERS: What 3 things do you love about your profession? A: 1-Flexibility - I LOVE my schedule and I LOVE that I’m able to fit in the busy schedules of my clients. Not knocking the hair salons, but most people don’t have time to actually get in the salon, let alone spend time in traffic, get the kids situated or whatever else, just to get in the salon. I LOVE that I offer my services to my clients in their own comfort zones, allowing them to relax and just BE. 2-Meeting new people, as well as building relationships with existing clients. 3-Learning & sharing knowledge about Natural hair care and Loc maintenance. I believe that you never stop learning, and what ever you’re learning, be humble enough to share your knowledge with others.
